Language: The working language of the meeting will be English. Interpretation will not be provided.
Venue: Curitiba - PR
Participants will be responsible for covering the costs of their own travel to and from Curitiba, Brazil. Participants will also be expected to cover the costs of their hotel, meals, and any additional or incidental expenditure they may incur including any medical costs/insurance.
Participants are advised to verify whether they require a visa to enter Brazil by contacting the relevant Embassy/Consulate in their country. A letter of support confirming participants’ registration for the meeting can be obtained by contacting cgcpol.dci@pf.gov.br. Additional support with the visa application process cannot be provided.
The event venue is located 15 minutes from the city center and Afonso Pena International Airport. Transportation to and from the venue from hotel Grand Mercure Curitiba Rayon for all international registered participants will be provided. On site private parking is available for those travelling locally by car.

United Nations Interregional Crime and Justice Research Institute (UNICRI)
UNICRI was established in 1968 to support Member States in preventing crime and promoting justice, security, and the rule of law. UNICRI undertakes action-oriented research on traditional and emerging threats, contributes to the development of crime prevention policies, and implements evidence-based programmes in specialized areas at the intersection of crime, justice, and security. In 2015, UNICRI launched its programme on AI, establishing its Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Robotics in the Hague shortly thereafter. The Centre is a unique hub of AI innovation and criminal justice through which UNICRI advances AI literacy and fosters responsible innovation.
Brazilian Federal Police
The Federal Police of Brazil (PF) is a Brazilian law enforcement agency under the Ministry of Justice and Public Security. According to the 1988 Constitution, it holds exclusive authority to perform the duties of the investigation of federal crimes. It also plays a role in public security by preserving public order and the safety of individuals, as well as protecting the federal properties and interests. Its responsibilities include maritime, airport, and border policing, as well as combating drug trafficking, smuggling, and customs fraud. The headquarters is located in Brasília, in the Federal District, with decentralized units in all state capitals, as well as police stations and outposts in various cities across the country.
Fundação Justiça pela Ciência
A non-profit organization established by the National Association of Federal Criminal Scientists (APCF) to promote the technical, scientific, and cultural advancement of forensic experts, aiming at the development and dissemination of knowledge in Forensic Sciences, with an emphasis on ensuring Justice and Human Rights.
